RT to RS/6000 migration?

I've been asked to help some people move from RTs to RS/6000s, and I
have a few questions.

Are there any files (like the bsdadm file mentioned recently) that
discuss RT to RS/6000 migration?

Is the /etc/security/passwd format the same between AIX 2.2.1 and AIX
3.1?  Can I copy the encrypted passwords from the RTs to the RS/6000s?
   
The RS/6000s may be split between two Ethernets.  I hope to set them
up in one NIS (Yellow Pages) domain, but then I guess I'll have to set
up one machine on the first Ethernet as the domain master server, and
one machine on the second Ethernet as a slave server.  Has anyone
split up a NIS domain this way?

I'd appreciate any RT to RS/6000 migration hints; please email, and
I'll summarize.
